Cieli / Heaven. Poetry & Vision
Palazzo Ducale, Sala Montefeltro, Urbania (Italy)
April – May 2019
„Marcel Proust’s quote catapults me back to my childhood and youth. The sky has a lot to do with me, with the view of distant horizons, the feeling of space and freedom that looking up conveys. My attitude to life and my artistic work are deeply connected to nature and its phenomena. Lying on a meadow and looking up at the sky, watching the clouds recede still gives me the feeling of boundless freedom and space for imagination. So, over time, the topic of sky paintings came up. In general, I like to work in cycles, trying to get deeper into a theme in a painterly way. The watercolors are a dreamy journey through the galaxies, to the most remote corners of the cosmos.
A dialogue of our own inner universe with the perceptible and invisible forces of the great universe, with space and time: star clusters, nebulae, exploded stars, black holes, galaxies that reform in the imagination, transforming, sometimes into colorful blooming gardens.“ – Angela Mrositzki
The cycle includes over 30 watercolors on paper. Its creation begins with the processing and priming of the paper and culminates in a very personal painting process that changes the traditional watercolor technique, which the artist acquired thanks to the technical knowledge of her studies at the Urbino Art Academy.
„Always try to keep a piece of heaven clear over your life.“
